As An Artist
I (She/They) am a Queer Theater Director passionate about providing space on stages for stories of flawed women and exploring the gender spectrum and the impact of prescriptive gender constructs. I am also invested in uplifting and taking seriously narratives surrounding young women and the struggles and turmoils they face. I want to, through artistic mediums, actively fight the taboo that once women’s behavior falls below societal standards their stories no longer matter. I am interested in showing women as deeply human to deconstruct the notion and expectation that there is a perfect woman that should be lived up to. I aim to fight the belief that there is a correct way to perform gender and love stories that hold space for a variety of gender expressions.
